ABOUT

I have been fascinated by photography for as long as I can remember. My love for retouching is newer; it began when I was in middle school. We were assigned to create a montage on Photoshop, and I discovered how amazingly easy it is too fool your brain.

Several years later, I traveled to the United States as a foreign exchange student. While attending high school there, I took a photography class. There, I learned the basics of photography, starting with only a pinhole and later using my father’s old film camera.

I enjoyed the class so much that I finished the entire program in 2 weeks. Fortunately, I was able to use my spare time to experiment in the darkroom. When I returned to France, I knew I wanted to pursue photography.

However, my school did not offer any photography classes. I taught myself digital with my father’s D90, which I found more difficult to learn than film. I graduated from high school and enrolled in the Gobelins School of Image, which I Finished last year, and I am now at Artfx School to learn all about 3D in order to expend my possibilities of creation.

Unlike many people, I have no problem with Photoshoped pictures. In my opinion, A PICTURE IS NEVER REALITY. It’s just a slice, a context-less moment that can be understood in many different ways.

Retouch has been around long before « the Rise of Photoshop », the only difference is that we now have better tools to improve our images and shape them the way we see the world.

To me Photography is about sharing, trying to freeze that perfect moment. But what’s the point is nobody ever see it ? Now I try to create more than I can see, compose images that couldn’t exist.
